About MYG (Make You Getit) LLC is a trauma-informed strategic consulting firm rooted in lived experience and built on a legacy of advocacy, equity, and transformation. We specialize in bridging the gap between public systems and the marginalized communities they were created to serve. Our work spans strategic planning, governance, risk management, and direct community solutions, all delivered through a lens of compassion and accountability. MYG was founded by Mahagany Yvonne Gillam, a seasoned consultant and strategic planner with over 36 years of experience in human rights activism, public speaking, and education equity. Raised in Oakland, CA and across the East Bay, Mahagany was deeply shaped by her parents’ relentless advocacy across multiple public service systems. Their fight for justice, dignity, and equity became the foundation of her life’s work.
MYG is built on this generational legacy of standing up for marginalized communities — not through charity, but through strategy. A dynamic strategic consulting firm that empowers public entities to work better, faster, and more ethically.
